Terms
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Great that you’re using Leeny. Below are the agreements that apply when you use the app. We’ve kept them as short and clear as possible.
1. About Leeny
Leeny is an app by Yorick Boshuijzen. With Leeny, you borrow clothes from and lend them to people in private groups, such as friends, family or housemates. Questions? Email hallo@leeny.app.
2. Who can use Leeny
- You’re 16 or older.
- Your account is personal. You give truthful details and keep your sign-in details to yourself.
- You use Leeny for yourself and not for commercial purposes.
3. You borrow together; Leeny isn’t a party
Leeny puts you in touch with people in your groups and helps you arrange loans: requesting, confirming, picking up and bringing back. You make the agreement about the loan itself with the other person. Think of when you pick something up and bring it back, whether you wash it and what happens if something gets damaged.
- Leeny isn’t a party to that agreement. We don’t rent out, sell or insure anything.
- You take good care of what you borrow and bring it back on time and in the same condition.
- If something goes wrong, such as damage, loss or not bringing it back, you sort it out together. You can report the other person in the app (see section 6).
4. What you post
- You only post clothes that are yours, with photos you took yourself or are allowed to use.
- What you post (photos, texts, messages) stays yours. You give Leeny permission to store it and show it to the people you share it with, for as long as that’s needed to make Leeny work.
- You follow our community guidelines.
5. What’s not allowed
Leeny is for borrowing, not for selling or renting out for money. You also can’t use Leeny for anything that breaks the law or our community guidelines. For example:
- harassment, hateful or sexual content;
- spam or scams;
- sharing other people’s data without their permission;
- attempts to misuse the app or our servers.
6. Reporting, blocking and moderation
- If you see something that’s not right, report it in the app. We review reports within 24 hours.
- You can block someone. You then no longer see each other’s items and messages.
- We may remove content and block accounts temporarily or permanently if someone doesn’t follow these terms or the guidelines.
7. Groups
Whoever creates a group is its owner and decides the agreements, such as whether requests need approval first and the maximum time you can borrow something for. The owner can remove members from the group. What you share in a group is seen by all its members.
8. Leeny Plus
Borrowing, reserving and chatting always stay free. Leeny Plus is an optional subscription with extras, such as more items and groups. Plus isn’t available yet during the beta. Once it is, the following applies:
- You take out Plus through the App Store. You see the price and any free trial in the app before you confirm.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
- You cancel and manage it in your Apple account settings. Refunds follow Apple’s policy.
9. Availability
Leeny is now in beta. We do our best to make the app work well and safely, but we can’t guarantee that everything is always available or works without errors. Features may change.
10. Liability
Leeny isn’t liable for damage to or loss of borrowed clothes, or for disputes between users. Beyond that, our liability is limited to what the law allows. This doesn’t apply in cases of intent or gross negligence.
11. Closing your account
You can always delete your account in the app. Read what happens then. If you don’t follow these terms, we may block or delete your account.
12. Privacy
You can read how we handle your data in our privacy policy.
13. Changes
We may change these terms. We’ll let you know about important changes in the app beforehand. If you keep using Leeny after that, the new terms apply.
14. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute will be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands. As a consumer, you always keep the protection the law gives you.
These terms are a translation of the Dutch terms. If the two differ, the Dutch version applies.
